I started this a year ago and didn't get very far. Looking at it again I thought it might also qualify for "The Color of White Challenge." So I decided to try to finish it. I'm still at the "does it need anything else" stage. I will look at it for a while before I decide if it's finished. I spent a little more time on this one than the last one. It's done in watercolor pencil on watercolor paper. (8" x 8")
Melanie, this is wonderful! You have an excellent composition, and my eyes just flow right to that beautiful bowl of cherries. Your colors are repeated throughout the painting tying everything together. Well done!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I was a little worried about the composition. I didn't know if I had a strong enough focal point.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous bowl holding the cherries, Melanie! Beautifully done too (I even noticed the reflections on the leaves of the pitcher!).
ReplyDeleteThank you AutumnLeaves. I picked up the bowl at a church rummage sale last year. There's another cherub on the other side but you can't see it. I thought it was unusual. The actual painting is a little warmer and the bowl looks more ivory, but my scanner didn't pick up the color as well as it should have. One of these days I'll get a better scanner.
